Home Back Forward

This jumper was handknitted by Lois Lambert for her first grandchild Christopher, now 18. It then passed on to Benjamin and Patrick. It came to our family, one of many bundles of baby clothes for our first born, and Lois’s first granddaughter, Gabrielle. It got more use however when Louis, number 2 arrived.

Lois passed away seven years ago, much too early for such a vital & strong spirited woman; but we still have a drawer of little jumpers all beautifully and evenly knitted, waiting for their next owners.

So to sum it up, this cardigan has been handed down from Christopher to Gabrielle to Benjamin to Patrick to Louis in our family Then onto a friends’ baby - Niko. From Niko, it was passed onto Pep, went to Leo and then to Christina.

It is just about to be handed on again to a new St Kilda baby — Savanha, so the beloved hand-me-down cardigan continues its journey.
