The Wedding Dog
In 1998, when we lived in Bolivia, my partner and I were given a puppy. We called her ‘Tres’ because she was the third member of our family. But then Dorey fell pregnant and we decided to come to Australia to have the baby.

Tres stayed behind. She would have had to spend months in quarantine if she had come with us and her place was there — in the valley by the river. When Dorey and I decided to get married we kept it a secret. But we told my brother-in-law and he made this photo of Tres for us, so she could be there at our wedding.
