Tree with Gems — When I was in grade 3 my best friend Emma gave me this tree for Christmas. I gave her a shell thing with a face painted on it.

A few years later she moved house and we lost touch but recently for the first time in ages I visited her house. She still has the shell duck in her bedroom and I’ve still got the crystal tree on a shelf in mine.

I don’t really know why I kept it; she was my first best friend and I have known her since I was 4 years old.

Little Bear — Joanna gave me this bear when I was in grade 6. She bought it while on holidays in the Grampians. She bought one for Marika too but we don’t see her anymore.
