The objects and stories were exhibited in shop windows, galleries, libraries and public buildings throughout the City of Port Phillip.

The exhibition illustrated how what we hold onto and what we discard tells us a lot about who we are as a community. The combination of the residents' stories and their objects reveals complex layers of culture and subculture in the city life of Port Phillip.

The project is about the lives of the people who make their homes here. It is hoped that residents of Port Phillip may come to see their own community in a different light and that visitors, who are drawn here by sea, sex or shopping, by cakes, cafes and carousing, may get a glimpse of a city that is not just a playground, but a place where people live.
