“Helen please accept this symbolic representation of the quest towards that which we value only as it vanishes. Peter Milne xxx”

In 1994 my long term collaborator, Peter Milne and I had just started working together. Somehow this lolly packet appeared at an exhibition we were sitting.

I kept it not just because it might forever recall my childhood days when boys and girls could blithely suck on fags, but because I figured then that Milne was a man after my own heart; that hopefully the little box would act as a marker for the beginning of a friendship.
