PAST BiennialsIn Experimenta Playground, media artists invited us to play and consider: social behavior, identity, the real and the imagined, material and the immaterial. The artworks reinvented old games and our known environment, revealed narratives in the most unexpected places and pushed the boundaries of traditional gallery experiences.

EXPERIMENTA VANISHING POINT, 2005 – 2007
Experimenta Vanishing Point, had us second-guessing our way through a forest of new media artworks. Inspired by twisted realities from Alice’s Wonderland to Being John Malkovich, Experimenta Vanishing Point brought us into a world that explored illusion and enchantment, it transformed the banal into the fantastic, and made us realise that our worlds that are not what they seem.

EXPERIMENTA HOUSE OF TOMORROW, 2003 – 2005
Experimenta House of Tomorrow explored a new world of future dreaming, of fear and future fun. It asked artists to think about what the future will look like; it made us question if in the future our homes will come equipped with a housebot and an automated dogwalker and if the key to better living will be delivered through technology.
